About Just Fishing Charters of Long Island’s North Fork

Captain John Halkias has been fishing the North Fork of Eastern Long Island for 39 years. He started fishing the bountiful waters of the North Fork in 1980, primarily fishing the surf and jetties of Mattituck, but also fishing off his Uncles’ boats. John’s evolution as a fisherman continued through the decades, and he’s owned and operated seven boats, all based in the North Fork. In 2018, Captain John was proud and honored to guide legendary northeast fisherman and author John Skinner to his personal best 12-pound fluke.
